Cllr. David O’Carroll

I have lived in North Street since July 2020, following retirement in October 2019 and relocation from Manchester, where my wife and I had worked for the previous 20 years.

I was born in north-west London, and the first 25 years of my working life were spent working for the NHS in a variety of clinical and managerial roles in several different hospitals in London. Following our move to South Manchester, I took on a senior managerial role in a private sector manufacturing company for eight years, which was a real eye-opener after the NHS. My next role took me into a management position in an independent sector treatment centre, run by a global healthcare company commissioned to provide a five-year contract to deliver an elective orthopaedic service for the NHS. In 2011, I joined a fledgling healthcare consultancy as a director, providing a wide range of services to the NHS throughout England until 2019. I am no longer involved with the consultancy, having resigned as a director in 2020.

I am a member of the local u3a, involved in the golfing group and leading the walking group. I have been a member of Faversham Golf Club for three years and mostly enjoy playing weekly. In 2020, I volunteered to assist with the rehanging of the augmented bells at St Mary of Charity, Faversham, and thereafter started learning how to ring in several local churches.

I currently hold the following Portfolios on behalf of the Parish Council:

Emergency Plan
Bus Shelters
Clerk Management
